Juventus star claims Liverpool have a ‘crazy’ player who's faster than Adama Traore

Liverpool have been unable to utilise some of their fastest players during parts of the 2025/26 season.

Mohamed Salah was dropped by Arne Slot for the Inter Milan win earlier this month and, prior to that, was placed on the bench in several Premier League matches.

In his stead, Dominik Szoboszlai started a number of games off the right wing, while Florian Wirtz or Alexander Isak have mostly been deployed off the left.

It has left Liverpool with no real pace in their side. But that has now changed following the return of Jeremie Frimpong.

Jeremie Frimpong faster than Fulham winger Adama Traore

Speaking in November, Federico Chiesa was asked if Frimpong is the quickest player at Liverpool.

He said: “Yeah, I would say yeah. I said him and [Dominik] Szoboszlai when the pitch opens up, he has a long stride.”

Now, Juventus forward Lois Openda has shared a similar verdict about the Dutchman and his speed.

The Belgian striker was asked to stay quiet until he heard a player faster than he is when speaking to his club’s official media team for a TikTok video.

Openda stayed quiet for names like Hugo Ekitike, Bukayo Saka and even Fulham winger Adama Traore.

However, after Traore, Frimpong was the final name given to the attacker, who eventually spoke to praise the Liverpool full-back for his pace.

He said: “Yes, he’s [Frimpong] fast. Even Traore’s fast, but Frimpong, this guy is crazy. I played against him you know, so I really know.”

Fastest players in Premier League during 2025/26

While Frimpong’s pace is undeniable, he has been kept out of Arne Slot’s team for much of the campaign so far due to injury issues.

As a result, he did not make it into the top-10 list of fastest Premier League players so far this term.

The Daily Mail shared the list prior to the weekend’s action getting underway, and no Liverpool players were included.

1. Jackson Tchatchoua (23.2mph)

2. Destiny Udogie (22.6mph)

3. Bryan Mbeumo (22.58mph)

4. Pedro Neto (22.57mph)

5. Anthony Gordon (22.53mph)

6. Daniel James (22.45mph)

7. Yankuba Minteh (22.44mph)

8. Anthony Elanga (22.36mph)

9. Nico O’Reilly (22.36mph)

10. Kevin (22.34mph)

11. William Osula (22.34mph)

But with Frimpong now back fit, it would not be surprising to see his name included in the top 10 come the end of 2025/26.
