After being crowned as the best U23 player in La Liga last season, Lamine Yamal has been recognised with the Best Forward in football title in the prestigious Globe Soccer Awards 2025.
The Barcelona winger, who finished second to Ousmane Dembele in the Ballon d’Or 2025 race, has been recognised for his efforts in helping Barcelona secure the domestic treble in the 2024/25 campaign.
A year to remember
With nine goals in 15 assists in La Liga last term, Yamal played a key role in helping Barcelona reinstate their dominance in Spain.
But it was the whole year of 2025 where Yamal truly established himself as one of the best in world football.
In the new season, Yamal has already been involved in 20 goals in all competitions, making him the most productive player for Barcelona.
The Barcelona ace has been equally productive for Spain, having already scored six goals in 23 appearances for La Roja.
This was the first major award for Barcelona’s men’s team in the Globe Soccer Awards 2025, although the Catalans had earlier dominated the La Liga awards category, winning the Best Club.
Hansi Flick was awarded the best coach in La Liga, while Raphinha won the Best Player in the competition for the 2024/25 season.
In the main category, Pedri and Deco were notably snubbed in the midfielder and sporting director segment, with both losing to their PSG counterparts in Vitinha and Luis Campos, respectively.
However, Barcelona dominated the women’s football category, winning the Best Team award, while Aitana Bonmati secured her third successive Globe Soccer Best Player award.
