Wayne Rooney gave a brilliant tongue-in-cheek verdict on the stunning save which denied [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/?ref=au).
David Raya dived high to his right to somehow tip a Yankuba Minteh shot over the bar as the Seagulls lost 2-1 at Arsenal.
Speaking on BBC TV’s Match Of The Day, former England striker Alan Shearer said it was potentially a save of the season.
But his fellow former goal-getter Rooney joked: “I think it was a good height for the keeper!”
He added: “No, in all fairness it was an absolutely incredible save.
“The speed he has to get across the goal. It’s moments like that which win you league titles.
“David Raya has many of those moments.”
Ahead of a clip of the incident, Shearer said: “You are about to see one of, if not the save of the season.
“This is an unbelievable save. They work it again so well.
“It’s those two down the right-hand side again. Little give, little go, in behind.
“Wow! That’s all you can say.
“You can see (Albion boss Fabian) Hurzeler and his reaction on the touchline.
“Unbelievable save, that is. It really is magnificent.”
Raya's save kept Arsenal in front soon after Diego Gomez had become only the fourth away player to score against the Gunners in the league.
He followed Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Richarlison’s long-range effort for Spurs and Tolu Korokodare (Wolves) on the list.
