Arsenal have the chance to bring in some new faces when the January transfer window opens up

Arsenal are hoping that they can finally get their hands on the Premier League trophy this season. They are sat top of the table above Manchester City and Aston Villa. The Gunners won 2-1 at home to Brighton and Hove Albion last time out.

Mikel Arteta has the chance to bring in some new faces in the January transfer window. He also has the opportunity to let some players head out the exit door as well if needed. That would help free up space and funds in their squad.

Arsenal update regarding Davide Bartesaghi links

Bartesaghi, 19, is under contract at the San Siro until June 2030 meaning his current club are under no pressure to sell him anytime soon and can wait for the right amount of money before they consider cashing in. The Italy youth international joined the Serie A giants back in 2012. Prior to his switch, he had a spell at Atalanta.

The defender has risen up through AC Milan’s academy. He was a regular for them at various different youth levels before breaking into the first-team picture. The teenager made his senior debut in 2023 and has since gone on to make 28 appearances in all competitions, 13 of which have come this season. Arsenal could now see him as someone to add some more competition and depth to their defensive department.

Arsenal preparing for Aston Villa clash

Arsenal are back in action on Tuesday as they look to keep their momentum going. They take on Aston Villa and will be in for a tricky test against Unai Emery’s side at the Emirates Stadium. The Midlands outfit have won their last 12 matches in all competitions and beat Chelsea 2-1 in their last outing.

Speaking after their victory over Brighton, Arteta said: “Very happy with the performance, individually and collectively, so dominant. We were a big threat, so very pleased with all of that. But the margins should have been much bigger. I mean, with the amount of situations, chances, open chances that we generated through the game, it should never be 2-1. But that's the Premier League, that's the step that we have to make.

“I think the first shot that they had, they scored the goal and then David has to make another save to maintain the result. But what I like is that we're having a lot of issues, we're dealing with it in an incredible way. Yesterday we lost Jurrien (Timber), today we lose (Riccardo) Calafiori in the warm-up, Declan (Rice) has to play as a full-back and you see the performance that he put in. So, that's the spirit and that's how much our players want it.”
