**Virgil van Dijk has revealed Liverpool’s key to fixing their set piece issues.**
Saturday’s [2-1 win over Wolves](https://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liverpool-fc/62567-liverpool-2-1-wolves-three-talking-points-diogo-jota-florian-wirtz-federico-chiesa/) saw the reigning Premier League champions concede from the tactic for a record-equalling 12th time in this campaign.
Only Bournemouth have given up as many goals as the Reds, who failed to stop Santiago Bueno plundering the rebound from a second-half corner..
But Van Dijk believes that the ‘killer’ problem is one which Arne Slot’s side will only improve upon through constant analysis and tightening up in training.
He said: “There have been plenty of games when we have defended them very well.
“But the fact is we’ve conceded too many set-piece goals and we don’t concede enough.
“It’s about repetition, training, analysing… it’s something we have to improve.
“I’d say at least 75 per cent of the time or even more, it’s not even about the first contact, it’s the second phase that is the killer.”
“Is it a psychological thing? I hope not. If that’s in your head then it’s an issue.
“Personally, it’s not in my head. We have defended so many set-pieces very well. But the fact is we’ve conceded too many goals like that and it hurts.
“We have to improve that. Training is the only way to get better at it.”
