Chelsea interested in bringing back former experienced star as a free agent

Chelsea are reportedly interested in bringing back one of their former experienced players as a free agent in the summer.

The Blues could certainly use an extra experienced head or two going forward and adding into a squad that is young and sometimes, still quite immature.

So this is a story that will please many fans to read. But it will also be a case of we will believe it when we see it, because we know that this just isn’t the type of signing that this current Chelsea do.

Antonio Rudiger is a popular figure amongst Chelsea fans still, and I believe that the majority would love to see him back as a free agent come the summer of 2026, and this is what could happen, per the latest report at least.

In Spain, media outlet AS are claiming that Antonio Rudiger could leave as a free agent in the summer due to his contract running out and no new deal yet to be on the horizon.

Galatasaray in Turkey are the heaviest linked team as being interested in signing him. But as well as them, Chelsea are also named as an interested club.

As I say, we will believe it when we see it.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is a strong candidate to replace Pep Guardiola at Manchester City in the summer, should the current City boss depart his club.

Meanwhile, we are almost in January now and that means a new transfer window opening up. One player who wants a move is Raheem Sterling, and it looks like Fulham could be a possible option for him next month as he looks to kick his career back into place.
