Arsenal injuries
Riccardo Calafiori (muscular issue): A major doubt for the Villa game. He was withdrawn during the warm-up against Brighton after feeling "awkward" discomfort. He will face a late fitness test.
Jurrien Timber (knock): Dealing with a knock after landing awkwardly in the EFL Cup. He missed the Brighton match and remains uncertain for Tuesday.
Gabriel Magalhaes (returned): In a massive boost, Gabriel made a surprise return from the bench against Brighton and is expected to be available to start against Villa, especially considering the Gunners' defensive injuries.
Kai Havertz (knee) : Very close to a return after a long-term knee injury. He is back in full training, and Mikel Arteta described his availability as a "matter of days," making him a potential inclusion for the Villa squad.
Ben White (thigh): Out with a hamstring injury sustained in mid-December. While not considered major, he is expected to be sidelined until early-to-mid January .
Cristhian Mosquera (ankle): Still recovering from an ankle injury. His return is currently targeted for mid-January
Max Dowman (ankle): The youngster is facing a long spell out after suffering significant ankle ligament damage. He is not expected back until early 2026 .
Aston Villa injuries and suspensions
Matty Cash ban: Suspended for the Arsenal game after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Chelsea. His absence leaves a hole at right-back for the Villans.
Boubacar Kamara suspension: Also banned for one match after receiving a booking at Stamford Bridge. This is a major blow to Villa's midfield stability.
Pau Torres (Calf): Remains sidelined with a calf injury. He is expected to return in early January 2026, meaning he will miss the trip to the Emirates.
Tyrone Mings (Thigh): Still recovering from a thigh issue. While he is making progress, Unai Emery has indicated he is still a few weeks away from a first-team return (likely mid-January).
Ross Barkley (Knee): Currently out with a knee injury. His recovery timeline is slightly longer than the central defenders, with a return not expected until late January or February .
