Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that he is hoping to have Kai Havertz back available very soon.
The German international underwent knee surgery back in August, and he has had further setbacks since then, but Arteta claims there is finally light at the end of the tunnel:
“I think it will be a matter of days, if not weeks. Let’s see in the next step how he responds to that.”
“He’s a player that we missed a lot, a player that brings the team into a different dimension. So, I’m really happy to have him back very soon.”
Expected Return Date – Early January
Jurrien Timber
The Dutchman missed the 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
Asked why Timber was not in the matchday squad, Arteta said that the defender picked up an injury in the closing stages of the penalty shootout win over Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup:
“We missed him because in the last part of the game, he felt something and he could not carry on, so he’s out.”
It remains to be seen whether Timber will be back to face Aston Villa on Tuesday.
Expected Return Date – Unknown
