**Anderlecht winger Nilson Angulo has denied that Liverpool are interested in signing him.**
The Reds were one of the clubs who had [**reportedly**](https://walkon.com/blog/liverpool-transfer-news-nilson-angulo/) scouted the Ecuadorian international last summer, but when asked about the prospect of leaving Anderlecht, Angulo reaffirmed his commitment to his current club:
“I have been made aware of articles about Celta Vigo and Liverpool. As long as my agent doesn’t say anything, I know it’s not true.”
“I am 100% focused on Anderlecht. I want to give this club something back for all the patience they’ve had with me.”
Other Premier League teams have been watching Angulo
----------------------------------------------------
The 22-year-old has had a good season for Anderlecht, having scored 5 goals and provided 8 assists in 25 appearances.
Earlier this month, the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Brentford, Brighton and Leeds United were mentioned as potential suitors for Angulo, although Liverpool’s name was conspicuous by its absence.
Considering he is a promising young winger, it’s likely that the Reds have sent observers to keep an eye on his progress, but it’s clear that their interest was not particularly serious, especially as it seems they have not even contacted his agent.
Liverpool are set to lose out on another winger
-----------------------------------------------
Unlike Angulo, the Merseyside club were very interested in recruiting Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo. The existence of a £65m release clause meant plenty of teams have weighed up moves for the Ghanaian ahead of the January transfer window.
It is believed several calls were made by Arne Slot’s side about signing him over the last month or so, but it appears Semenyo now has his heart set on a move to Manchester City.
Unless there is a last-minute hijack attempt, the 25-year-old looks destined to seal his switch to the Etihad Stadium over the coming days.
