Although extending Nico Schlotterbeck's contract is top priority, Borussia Dortmund are preparing for a scenario in which he leaves.
Now, according to BILD, Dortmund are said to be demanding at least €70million for the left-footed centre-half.
A hefty sum for a player entering the final year of his contract this summer, given previous figure being discussed was €50 million.
There are plenty of interested parties. Besides Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid has also set its sights on Schlotterbeck.
A wild rumor is circulating in the Spanish media involving a big swap deal between Real Madrid and the Westphalian club.
BVB would receive defender Diego Aguado (18) and striker Gonzalo García (24) plus €35million for Schlotterbeck to join the Galacticos.
Although the 26-year-old wouldn't be adverse to joining Madrid, BILD senses such an offer would hardly meet Dortmund's expectations.
Cash would be the Black and Yellows' preferred method of payment, enabling them to invest in players they want for the 2026-27 campaign.
