A transport warning has been issued ahead of Coventry City's clash with Ipswich Town. The Sky Blues are looking to extend their lead at the top of the Championship table when they take on the 'The Tractor Boys' at the Coventry Building Society Arena tonight (December 29).

Kick off is at 6pm tonight and thousands are set to descend on the CBS Arena as the Sky Blues take on fellow promotion contenders Ipswich, who sit two places behind 'City in the Championship table. Due to the expected large crowds, West Midlands Railway has issued a warning to those who plan to travel to the game by train.

It has posted the warning on X, formerly known as Twitter, which reads: "We expect services heading into Coventry to be busier than usual." It urges people to check timetables before they head off.

The post also explains that there will be 'additional calls' added to the Coventry Arena station. Train services is not the only form of transport set to be busy.

Live traffic website Inrix has warned that motorists can expect extra traffic on Phoenix Way until after kick-off and after full time. It is the Sky Blues' last home fixture of 2025 tonight.
