Four Chelsea stars may never play for club again as another mass clear-out planned

Chelsea have been inconsistent on the pitch this season and have suffered a dismal run of form this winter after picking up just one win in their last six Premier League outings. The Blues threw away a one-goal lead on Saturday as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Aston Villa.

Chelsea have been one of the busiest teams in the transfer market in recent years and have welcomed a host of new players to the club. Bosses have also moved a number of players on, with the current stars being provided with plenty of competition for places by their team-mates. But there are some players who just can’t seem to force their way into Enzo Maresca’s plans. And Express Sport takes a look at four players who may never pull on the Chelsea jersey again.

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling hasn’t been in his manager’s plans for a long, long time and has failed to even make it into a matchday squad this season.

The 31-year-old, who still has another 18 months on his contract, underwhelmed during a loan spell with Arsenal last season.

And he was said to be reluctant to move abroad in the summer as his family are settled in London and he wants to remain in England.

Chelsea will be keen to get his wages off their books as soon as they can, and would sanction a permanent departure in January if there are any takers.

Axel Disasi

Axel Disasi is another player the Blues are looking to offload, with the 27-year-old centre-back another peripheral figure under Maresca.

Disasi featured 31 times in the Premier League during his debut campaign at the club after signing from Monaco in the summer of 2023.

But he’s another one who hasn’t made a matchday squad this season following a disappointing loan spell with Aston Villa last season.

Tyrique George

Chelsea are also thought to be open to cashing in on 19-year-old winger Tyrique George, who has struggled to break into the team at Stamford Bridge.

The teenager hasn’t featured in the Premier League since October and has been linked with a departure in January.

Filip Jorgensen

Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has also been tipped to leave Chelsea in January, with the 23-year-old currently playing second fiddle to Robert Sanchez in between the sticks.

Jorgensen is a capable shot-stopper who appears to have a bright future at the top of the game. And there would be plenty of teams willing to sign the keeper on a permanent deal next year.
