“Get something at Stamford Bridge” – Iraola speaks out ahead of Chelsea match

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has been speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Chelsea tomorrow night.

The Blues have just lost 2-1 at home against Aston Villa on Saturday night, and you get the sense now that if they get anything less than a win tomorrow night, then the pressure is going to ramp right up on head coach Enzo Maresca again.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea looking into January deal to sign Dutch midfielder!!

I think question marks need to be raised on the Chelsea squad build too, personally. They are the ones that put this squad together, the sporting directors I mean, so they should be held just as accountable if not more accountable than the manager is.

Either way, they need to vastly improve, and that has to start at home against a team who have been in some terrible form lately. Chelsea must take advantage of that and beat Bournemouth tomorrow.

Speaking to the Bournemouth website, Iraola said:

“We’ve just recently played against them. We have to be at our very best to get something at Stamford Bridge.

“If you are okay or just quite good, it’s not going to be enough. You have to be at the best of your levels.

“We definitely have to improve our first half from Saturday and defend much more solid. I think we defended really well against them [Chelsea] in the 0-0 at home.

“It’s going to be difficult to keep them to no goals again, we need to improve our performance defensively because it’s going to be very difficult.

“They are a team that, especially offensively, they score goals very easily. They don’t need a lot of things to score because they have so many threats.

“They have so many players and, with the subs, they can keep the level for 90 minutes. Normally they change the wingers and number nine but the level is still top, so they can keep the energy for the whole game.

“For us it’s going to definitely be a very challenging game. We have to go with the aim of recovering the feelings and seeing us competitive against this kind of team.”
