Opta Supercomputer Updates Premier League Title Race Prediction as Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool Battle for Top Spot

Arsenal are in the title mix in Opta’s latest Premier League table simulation for the end of the season.

The Gunners come off a narrow 2-1 win against Brighton last time out, which saw Mikel Arteta have to rotate his players due to the number of injury problems he’s currently got. However, heading into their next game against Aston Villa, Arsenal will be optimistic that they can come out of it.

It terms of their biggest rivals, Man City remain close, just two points behind Arsenal, as they are on an eight game win streak in the Premier League. However, that’s not as good as Aston Villa, who have won their last 11 matches.

Premier League Title Race – Will Arsenal win the league?

1 – Arsenal – 83.16 predicted points

2 – Man City – 78.27 predicted points

3 – Aston Villa – 73.85 predicted points

Firstly, the Supercomputer thinks that Arsenal will win the Premier League title by five points, which is a commanding victory considering that the Gunners only have a two point lead at the moment.

Man City are predicted to finish second, and under Pep Guardiola’s guidance, they will surely push Arsenal all the way. Aston Villa are predicted to finish third, which is no surprise considering their recent impressive form under Unai Emery.

European Qualification Battle

4 – Liverpool – 66.45 predicted points

5 – Chelsea – 60.55 predicted points

6 – Man United – 57.38 predicted points

7 – Brentford – 53.85 predicted points

The relegation candidates are also emerging. It looks almost certain that Wolves will finish bottom of the league, with Burnley and West Ham predicted to go down with them.

Forest, Leeds and Bournemouth are predicted to narrowly avoid relegation, but it could all change in the next few weeks.
