Former No. 6 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, center Mo Bamba, has agreed to sign a contract with the Toronto Raptors on a one-year, non-guaranteed deal, senior NBA insider Shams Charania reported.
Toronto has been looking for a desperate need with depth in the center position. 27-year-old Bamba will add experience to the Raptors' frontcourt while finding an opportunity in his eighth NBA season.
The move has come while Toronto has found uncertainty in the health of starting center Jakob Poeltl. He's been in and out of the team's lineup this season while trying to mend a back injury, resulting in just 21 games played.
A timeline of Mo Bamba's NBA career
Orlando Magic
Mo Bamba spent his first four-and-a-half years with the team that drafted him, the Orlando Magic. After a tenure filled with setbacks mixed with inconsistent play,
Los Angeles Lakers
Orlando traded the seven-footer to the Los Angeles Lakers for the rest of his rookie extension to finish out the 2022-23 season.
Philadelphia 76ers
While becoming a free agent, Bamba signed a deal to join the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2023-24 season. He appeared in 57 games (17 starts) while averaging 4.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks.
Los Angeles Clippers/New Orleans Pelicans
2024-25 resulted in Bamba losing a steady role with an NBA team. He signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2024-25 before getting traded to the New Orleans Pelicans.
Now joining his sixth NBA franchise, the Toronto Raptors, Mo Bamba has found his way back to the league for his eighth season.
G League
