Barcelona loanee Hector Fort is set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a dislocated shoulder.
Elche have confirmed the defender has gone under the knife and is set for a period on the sidelines.
An official statement from the club read: “Elche CF player Héctor Fort underwent surgery on Monday by FC Barcelona’s medical staff following the injury he suffered in the match against Rayo Vallecano.
“Medical tests have confirmed an anterior dislocation of the left shoulder . The recovery time will depend on his progress. Get well soon, Hector!”
The youngster has made nine La Liga appearance so far this season, after moving on in search of regular minutes, and will hopefully be able to pick up where he left off when he returns to full fitness.
