Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers leads in the fan voting for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

The first round of results in the fan voting for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game came in on Monday, December 29, and two international stars are the headliners.

Luka Doncic andGiannis Antetokounmpo have garnered themost votes so far, both receiving more than a million.Nikola Jokic,Tyrese Maxey andJalen Brunson, respectively, round out the top five. The voting opened on Wednesday, December 17 and will close on Wednesday, January 14.

Doncic, in his first full season with theLos Angeles Lakers, has established himself as aglobal superstar, and his play on the court has backed up the hype. He is averaging a league-leading 33.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game this season.

Antetokounmpo has long been one of the top All-Star vote getters, and that clearly hasn’t changed despite thetrade rumors swirling around him and theMilwaukee Bucks. The Greek Freak is averaging 28.9 points, 10 rebounds and 5.8 assists.

What Is The Format Of The 2026 NBA All-Star Game?

TheNBA All-Star Game has a brand new format in 2026 that should make for a more action-packed event than in years past.

This season, there will be three teams (two U.S. and one international) that will each have a minimum of eight players competing in a round-robin tournament. There will be three 12-minute games, with the teams with the best records advancing to the final.

If the preliminary voting is any indication, the international team will be stacked. Doncic, the NBA’s leading scorer this year, combined with two-time MVP Antetokounmpo and three-time MVP Jokic might be the best big three ever assembled on a basketball court.

How Does The Voting For The 2026 NBA All-Star Game Work?

As usual, there will be 24 NBA All-Stars (12 from each conference). Five starters from each conference will be selected by fans (50% of the vote), current NBA players (25%) and the media (25%), and the seven reserves from each conference will be selected by NBA head coaches. This year, the All-Stars will be selected without regard to position.

If the All-Star voting does not result in the selection of 16 U.S. players and eight international players (which may include American players with ties to other countries, if necessary), then Adam Silver will select additional All-Stars so that each team has the minimum number of players. The process for assigning players to the two U.S. teams will be determined at some point ahead of the event at the Intuit Dome inLos Angeleson February 15.
