Toronto Raptors centre Jakob Poeltl will not play for the next week as he continues to manage a back injury, the team announced Monday.
According to the Raptors, Poeltl is completing a program of “intensive rehabilitation and strengthening” and after that, he will be re-evaluated for a return to play.
He last played on Dec. 21 against the Brooklyn Nets and has missed the last three games. He only played seven minutes in the meeting with the Nets.
The 30-year-old Austrian is averaging 9.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in 25.3 minutes a night spread out over 21 games so far this season.
Toronto (19-14) will host the Orlando Magic (18-14) at Scotiabank Arena Monday night.
