Heading into halftime of Monday night's game between the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat, the star center Nikola Jokic took an awkward fall during the final seconds of the half.
As the star center had his foot stepped on by one of his teammates, he was seen falling down and grabbing at his knee. The multi-time MVP was down and clearly in pain before the conclusion of the first half.
At the half, Jokic had checked in for 19 minutes on the night. He was having a typical dominant showing, shooting an efficient 9-14 from the field, scoring 21 points.
Along with his scoring, Jokic was already flirting with a double-double by dishing out eight assists. He also had five rebounds and just two turnovers. The Heat and the Nuggets were tied at 63 heading into the half.
All season long, Jokic has been fortunate with health. Heading into Monday's action against Miami, the star center has played in every game for the Nuggets throughout the 2025-2026 season.
In those 31 games, Jokic has made 60 percent of his shots from the field, and drained 44 percent of his threes. The veteran center is posting averages of 29.9 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 11.1 assists.
Once again, Jokic is at the top of the NBA's MVP ladder. After winning his third MVP nod in 2023-2024, he finished as a runner-up to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander during the 2024-2025 NBA season. While the Oklahoma City Thunder guard is still neck-and-neck with Jokic early on, the Nuggets center has been the favorite through the first phase of the year.
Jokic’s status for the remainder of Monday’s game is in question.
