But Saturday’s defeat at Brentford saw the Cherries run without a win reach nine games, with the contrast between the days approaching the two games clear.
Last season, Bournemouth arrived at the Bridge on January 14 on a high. They had broken the club’s record unbeaten run in the top flight in the previous league game, and they were seventh in the table.

But heading to the capital on Tuesday night this term, confidence in the squad is undoubtably low, with uncertainty surrounding the future of a number of first team players and boss Andoni Iraola.
Asked about finding some of the form that they were in when they visited the Bridge last season, Iraola said: “I said at the beginning of the season, I don't want to compare past season with this season because probably we are going to lose in most of the comparison.
“We are a different team, we are in a different situation club wise. And we have to kind of clean the past season and start this season with okay, we have to build a lot of things and I don't think it's comparable.
“And the situation for probably Chelsea are more similar, but we are a completely different team, I think.”
