Results might be picking up for Liverpool as of late, but performances are still nowhere near the level they need to be.
The Reds came away with a 2-1 win against bottom-of-the-league Wolves on Saturday, a result that was not overly convincing to say the least.
Yet again, they conceded a goal from a set piece, with the second phase of play becoming a real issue.

However, there are a few more trends that appear to be carrying on week after week, and although it did not cost them against Wolves, it very well could have done, something Liverpool legend John Aldridge has warned them about.
Liverpool need to stop dropping off in the second half of games
Liverpool have had a bit of a habit this season of going two goals up, with the same happening at the weekend.
However, whatever Arne Slot appears to be telling them at half time, it does not seem to work as their second half performances mean they really make it hard work for themselves.
Rather than attacking their lead, they seem to drop off and allow the opposition to play, something Aldridge believes will cost them if they are not careful.

“The game was there for the taking. We could have won by three or four but instead we were a bag of nerves after they got one back,” he wrote in his column for the Liverpool Echo.
“They get a corner and come on! Every corner is a nightmare. Whoever is on set-pieces, they need to look in the mirror.
“You need to organise and get in the players’ heads. It’s now every corner. Alisson saves it, does well, but all the players are on the wrong side and none of them are alert to the danger. Words fail you.
“We let them back in the game. We’re jittery. They should have equalised. Liverpool can be happy with the result but better teams would capitalise on us.”

Liverpool must work on intensity in training
One thing Jurgen Klopp instilled into his Liverpool side was intensity, with the German demanding this right from the first whistle.
Since Slot has come in, he has adopted a more controlled approach, which has worked wonders, but now there are arguments that it is actually making the Reds less in control.
After half time, Liverpool seem to lose energy and drop off the opposition, with this being where they start to get on top and the Reds struggle with the intensity of the game.
It is clear that this is something they need to work on in training as it seems to happen week in, week out, with the last two games the prime example of this.
