Former Celtics star says this Mavs-Warriors trade would shake up the West

Former NBA All-Star Paul Pierce says a trade sending Anthony Davis to Golden State would seriously shake up the West, suggesting the Mavericks could trade him for Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga.

This upcoming trade deadline is shaping up to be an interesting one, as many big-name players are rumored to be on the trading block entering the new year.

Among the players generating the most trade buzz are Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis and Golden State Warriors young forward Jonathan Kuminga.

Former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce suggested these players could be involved in trades this season and believes such a move would seriously shake up the Western Conference.

“If you can get Anthony Davis for the Golden State Warriors, that’s going to shake up the West," Pierce said on The No Fouls Given Show.

"In a trade for Anthony Davis, you’ve got to look for some young pieces, because Dallas knows who their franchise guy is with Cooper Flagg," he noted.

"When you’re rebuilding, you just want to throw all the talent you have on the floor, see what you’ve got, and see how it gets sorted out," Pierce added, discussing the potential pairing of Kuminga and Flagg, who play similar positions.

This season, Davis has played 16 games for the Dallas Mavericks while battling injuries, averaging 20.5 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in just under 30 minutes per game.

Meanwhile, Kuminga has appeared in 18 games for Golden State, putting up 11.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in around 25 minutes per game.
