Chelsea continue to monitor João Bezerra, and Brazilian reports have now added more detail about the teenager’s mindset and playing style.
According to Globo Esporte, the 16-year-old striker models his game on Harry Kane, while keeping a calm and focused approach to his development at Internacional.
In comments relayed by the Brazilian press, he explained why the Spurs legend is his main reference. “I’m a big fan of Harry Kane. I like his style. He drops deep, helps build play and still scores goals,” he said.
Standing close to 1.90m, Bezerra combines size with mobility. He does not stay fixed between centre-backs. Just like his role model.
The youngster, already followed by Chelsea, is set to be part of Internacional’s squad for the opening rounds of the State Championship. Brazilian outlets explain that the club’s decision to field an alternative side has accelerated his exposure to senior football.
Initially, Bezerra was preparing to feature at the Brazilian Youth Cup before moving closer to the first team later in the year.
His rise is backed by numbers. In 2025, Bezerra scored 30 goals in 41 matches and added five assists. He averaged 0.73 goals per game.
In addition, he featured in two friendlies for Brazil’s under-17 side, registering one goal and one assist. Those performances strengthened his status inside the academy.
The teenager also highlighted his mentality when discussing a possible chance with the senior side. “I like to work in silence, focused. If the opportunity comes, I’ll grab it and make the most of it,” Bezerra stated.
For now, Chelsea remain observers, watching how his first steps at senior level unfold.
