Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hinted that there will be players departing the Emirates during the January transfer window.
When asked about potential outgoings, Arteta emphasised that no decisions have been made yet, but he did not completely rule out exits, either on loan or on a permanent basis:

“We assess every situation. I leave that much more to Andrea [Berta] to understand what’s happening in the market.”
“Then, individual players, obviously, we have to assess where we are with each of them and get the best situation.”
Nwaneri has been tipped to leave
It was reported last month that Ethan Nwaneri could be allowed out on loan in January after struggling for game time in the first half of the season.
The teenager has 0 starts in the Premier League and has been limited to only 446 minutes in all competitions. It’s a stark contrast to last campaign when he started 11 league games, as well as making 37 appearances in total.
It’s obvious what has caused the sharp decline. The arrival of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace has really hindered Nwaneri’s development.
Arsenal’s injury crisis could influence decision-making
Arteta currently has six players on the treatment table, including Ben White, Kai Havertz, Cristhian Mosquera, Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori and Max Dowman.
It could influence whether the likes of Nwaneri are allowed to leave, with Arteta fearing that he could be left with a barebones first-team squad.
However, with Havertz (and potentially) White both expected to be available for the Villa fixture, or at the very least, the Bournemouth match this weekend, the Gunners’ injury problems are easing.
You can still see a scenario where Nwaneri is loaned out for the second half of the season if the right offer is received.
