Liverpool’s top choice appeared to be Marc Guehi, but they might start to shift their focus.
It is no secret that the Reds want a new centre-back, but whether they try for one in January or the summer is yet to be seen.
The majority of fans will say the earlier the better, though, with Guehi the man everyone seems to want given his credentials.

However, Liverpool have already discussed other options, with one of them even being Guehi’s current Crystal Palace teammate, suggesting they could even try a double swoop.
Liverpool have discussed Maxence Lacroix
Palace fans will hate that all their top players are being linked with a move away, but it really is a compliment as to how far they have come.
Not only have Liverpool been linked with Guehi and Adam Wharton, but now they have been connected with defender Maxence Lacroix.

According to Lewis Steele of the Daily Mail, Lacroix has already been discussed at Anfield and he still remains an option they could make a move for.

The Frenchman has been a revelation since his move to Selhurst Park and has proven that he could make the step up.
Palace signed him last season in a deal worth up to just £18m, a figure that would be at least double given how well he has performed, although it will likely be much higher again.
With still three years left on his deal, a move seems unlikely, but at least it shows that Liverpool have back-up options should they need it.

Marc Guehi is still Liverpool’s number one target
Although linked with many names, including Guehi’s teammate, the Englishman remains their top choice.
It looks like they still want to wait until the summer, though, a strategy that could cost them should either Virgil van Dijk or Ibrahima Konate pick up an injury.
There is a chance other clubs get there first too as he can speak to teams from abroad from the 1st January, making it a big risk overall.
