Juventus are currently embroiled in one of the closest and intense Serie A title races in recent memory.

I Bianconeri are currently involved in a 5 way battle for the league.

Juventus are sitting in fifth place at present, but they’re only four points behind leaders Inter Milan.

Granted, Inter have a game in hand.

But the fact that there are only four points separating first and fifth show how intense the fight for the title is this campaign.

With that in mind, all of the top clubs in Italy are looking to capitalise on the January transfer market to see where they can potentially improve their striking options.

Roma have been linked intensely with Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee.

AC Milan are expected to sign West Ham United striker Niclas Fullkrug once the transfer window opens.

And Juventus are also looking to improve their frontline.

Summer signing Jonathan David hasn’t quite hit the heights expected of him and Dusan Vlahovic is seemingly always linked with a move away.

Head coach Luciano Spalletti has only been at the club since October, so this will be his first window to make actual signings.

And it seems that he has his eye on a Liverpool forward.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juventus want to sign Federico Chiesa on loan in the January transfer window.

For those who remember, Chiesa joined Liverpool from Juventus in 2024 on a cut price deal as he had only one year left on his contract.

La Gazzetta state that there aren’t any negotiations taking place to sign him on loan, but Juventus have discussed the idea.

Federico Chiesa is seen as someone who can play on the opposite wing to star man Kenan Yildiz or as a false nine.

Luciano Spalletti knows the 28-year-old from their time together with the Italian national team.

La Gazzetta mention that the decision of the loan will ultimately belong to Liverpool and Chiesa himself.

With that in mind, Juventus have identified some alternative names in the likes of Simon Adingra of Sunderland, Kevin Schade and Mikkel Damsgaard, both of Brentford, and Gonzalo Garcia of Real Madrid.

It will be interesting to see if Federico Chiesa stays at Liverpool and continues his squad role or if he decides he wants to take a more central role for a team in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United States of America.

If he decides he wants more game time, then we might be hearing more about Juventus wanting to take him back to the club.
