Arseblog News understands that Arsenal Women intend to recall goalkeeper Naomi Williams from her loan spell at Bristol City. The 21-year-old joined the Championship club on an initial season long loan during the summer.
Williams has yet to appear for the Gunners in a senior game, but with Manu Zinsberger out for the season with an ACL injury, the Arsenal academy product is likely to be recalled early to provide back up and competition for Daphne van Domselaar and Anneke Borbe.
Our understanding is that discussions are also likely to take place over a new deal since her current Arsenal contract expires this summer. Williams has battled with Fran Bentley for the number 1 jersey during her loan spell in Bristol.
17-year-old Academy goalkeeper Amy Liddiard has been on the bench since the beginning of December with van Domselaar nursing a quad injury and Zinsberger out. Williams will return to the club to bolster Arsenal’s senior goalkeeping options.
