Fortunately, tests confirmed that the three-time NBA MVP’s knee ligaments are intact, offering some relief for the team.
Jokic suffered the injury in the final seconds of the first half against the Miami Heat and limped to the locker room. He did not return after halftime and was later ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The Serbian star had an impressive showing before leaving the court, finishing with 21 points, eight assists, and five rebounds in just 19 minutes.
Denver is already navigating significant injury challenges, with starters Christian Braun (ankle), Aaron Gordon (hamstring), and Cam Johnson (knee) sidelined.
Despite the setbacks, the Nuggets (22–10) have started the 2025–26 season strong, thanks largely to Jokic’s dominance. He is averaging 29.9 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 11.1 assists per game in what is shaping up to be another historic campaign.
