Chiesa has already hinted whether he would re-join Juventus amid January interest in Liverpool star

Federico Chiesa is never far away from rumours of a move away from Liverpool.

The January transfer window is almost here and for the Reds, it could be another busy one despite their spending spree in the summer.

As well as perhaps welcoming a few additions, a few stars could also be on the move, with one of these being Chiesa.

Liverpool can only sign ONE player this January, which position should they strengthen?

Although Liverpool are light on options at the top end of the pitch, the Italian needs minutes if he is to go to the World Cup, but it seems unlikely that he will get them at Anfield.

Juventus are one of the clubs linked with a move, the team Chiesa arrived from, and he has already hinted whether he would be interested in a return.

Federico Chiesa never ruled out a return to Juventus

Chiesa is a fan favourite at Liverpool despite barely kicking a football, so nobody wants to see him leave.

It is understandable why he would, though, as he will be desperate to be picked by Gennaro Gattuso for Italy’s World Cup, should they qualify, of course.

With that said, a move back to Italy and regular game time would likely see him selected, making Juventus’ loan approach an intriguing one.

Chiesa could be open to going back too as he never shut down the possibility of returning, making this one to watch.

“Never say never. I still love the club and the fans,” he told La Gazetta dello Sport back in June when asked about re-joining one day.

Juventus are said to be thinking about a six-month loan move, with the attraction of a World Cup place potentially enough to tempt him.

However, with Liverpool already light on options in attack, it is highly unlikely they would allow this, with a permanent move the only way he would go.

He only cost ÂŁ12.5m in the first place, so they would not get much for him at all, but a small amount could tempt them to sell and spend on a replacement.

Ultimately, the decision could be down to the player himself as if he is desperate to go, then the Reds will probably not kick up too much of a fuss, but a loan without an option to buy seems unlikely.
