A member of the loan army at La Liga champions Barcelona is facing up to an extended incoming spell on the sidelines.
The player in question? Héctor Fort.
Youngster Fort is for his part fresh off keeping alive a stellar recent run of individual form this past weekend.
Made use of from the off in Elche’s La Liga meeting with Rayo Vallecano, the full-back found the net in spectacular style en route to a 4-0 romp.
In the process of slotting home, however, Fort suffered an injury setback.
Seen clutching at his shoulder in evident pain, the 19-year-old was put through an ensuing round of medical tests early this week.
And both the results of as much, as well as confirmation of a successful surgical procedure for Fort, have since been revealed.
As per a statement across Elche’s social media platforms:
‘Elche CF player Héctor Fort underwent surgery on Monday by FC Barcelona’s medical staff following the injury he suffered in the match against Rayo Vallecano.
‘Medical tests have confirmed an anterior dislocation of the left shoulder. The recovery time will depend on his progress. Get well soon, Hector!’
