Chicago Bulls star Josh Giddey in mix for all-star berth after first voting returns

Josh Giddey has had plenty of critics since entering the NBA, but the Aussie star may soon make them eat their words.

The first round of fan voting for this season's all-star game is in, and it seems plenty of fans are taking note of what the 23-year-old has produced on the court this season.

Giddey has the 14th most votes by fans in the Eastern Conference, accumulating 115,000 votes to date.

Despite being on a struggling [Chicago Bulls](https://www.sportingnews.com/au/nba/chicago-bulls) team, and even battling through injury earlier in the season, Giddey is averaging 19.2 points, 8.9 rebounds and 9.0 assists per contest in 30 games this season, while also shooting above 38 per cent from three-point range.
