Liverpool have endured a mixed 2025, one with plenty of highs and lows, that is now set to be put behind them. The Reds have wrapped up their action for the calendar year and will return on New Year's Day in an effort to kick off 2026 in the best way possible.
is gearing his team up to face off with an in-form Leeds United side at Anfield, following an impressive few weeks for The Whites. are one of the sides on the end of that turn of form, having earlier this month.
They have turned things around as well, however, with some positive results, even if the performances themselves have been less than convincing.
With a little more balance across the team, Liverpool will be looking for revenge over Leeds to help keep them in the conversation for a top-four finish, while dealing a slight blow to the Whites in their relegation battle.
Both teams will be missing some key players, however, as a mixture of injuries and international call-ups for the Africa Cup of Nations have impacted the availability across the board.
So, with that said, here's a look at every player who could miss Liverpool's clash with Leeds on New Year's Day.
Alexander Isak is set to miss a few months of action after picking up a serious injury against Tottenham. "It’s going to be a long injury. For a couple of months," Arne Slot said of the striker.
"That’s a big disappointment for him, and as a result of that, of course, also for us. [I'm] confident he can still play a part at the back end of the season."
