Aston Villa have suffered a fresh injury concern after Amadou Onana was taken off at half-time against Arsenal.
In the 27th minute, Onana sat on the floor awaiting assistance from the Villa medical team, but after receiving treatment he decided to continue playing.
It is unclear exactly what Onana’s issue is, but a member of Villa’s medical staff was seen stretching his right leg while he was on the floor.
After playing on for the rest of the first half, Onana was brought off at the break, presumably because of the injury he sustained, and was replaced by John McGinn.
Unai Emery is expected to provide an update on the Belgian’s injury during his post-match press conference.
Villa play two more Premier League matches before taking on Tottenham in the third round of the FA Cup next weekend.
Nottingham Forest await Villa this coming Saturday, before Emery’s side take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday, January 7.
Villa headed to Arsenal without Matty Cash and Boubacar Kamara through suspension, while Pau Torres, Tyrone Mings and Ross Barkley were all injured and Evann Guessand is at AFCON.
