Luka Doncic raised concern for the Lakers after briefly leaving the game with an apparent shoulder issue before returning to finish with 30 points in a 128–106 loss to the Pistons.
After a win over the Sacramento Kings, the Los Angeles Lakers returned to losing ways on Tuesday night. The Detroit Pistons handed the Lakers a 128–106 defeat, but the biggest concern for Los Angeles fans was Luka Doncic.
Doncic headed back to the locker room just before the end of the third quarter for an unknown reason, according to multiple reports.
When he returned, he was wearing a shirt under his uniform along with a black shoulder harness/brace strapped across his upper body, featuring a padded section over his shoulder and a small electronic-looking device attached to the strap.
The setup appeared designed to stabilize or protect his shoulder, suggesting a possible shoulder issue.
Despite that, the Slovenian superstar did play in the fourth quarter. He checked back into the game with 10:10 remaining and was subbed out for good with 4:09 left.
Luka finished the night with 30 points, five rebounds, and 11 assists in nearly 36 minutes of action.
With the loss, the Lakers fell to 20–11 on the season.
