Since they lifted the title, things have not exactly gone to plan, but that does not mean there has not been some standout moments.

Across the entire year, though, Liverpool have had many players who have impressed massively, with it now time to crown their player of 2025, as voted for by readers of Rousing The Kop.

Dominik Szoboszlai voted as Liverpool’s best player of 2025

There are so many players who have shone this year, with it really no wonder Liverpool romped to the Premier League title.

They were unlucky in the Champions League too after losing to the eventual winners PSG, before losing in the Carabao Cup final, showing how they were so close to winning a lot more.

Every player deserves their plaudits, but only one can take home the prize as RTK’s Player of 2025, with fans awarding this to Dominik Szoboszlai, who was described as ‘Mr Reliable’ by one fan in the comments.

Hugo Ekitike was the runner up with just over 10%, with the others spread out fairly evenly between the likes of Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker and Ryan Gravenberch.

Based on the votes, there could be a slight hint of recency bias, however it is hard to argue given how impressive someone like Szoboszlai has been this season, with the 25-year-old still a more-than-deserving winner.

Dominik Szoboszlai is the future of Liverpool

2026 is a very exciting year for the Reds, and Szoboszlai will likely be at the forefront of everything good they do.

He has been Liverpool’s best player this season by a country mile, and if he carries on in the same vein of form, he will likely be voted as their best player of 2026 too.

His contract expires in 2028, so he still has a long time left to impress, but the fact Liverpool are already trying to tie him down to a new deal tells you all you need to know about his ability.

He could even be the future captain one day as he has all the skills needed, so this award might just be one of many that he wins from here on in.
