Leeds United will be hoping for dropped points from West Ham every week now, and their thriller with Brighton was one to watch.
United don’t play now until the 1st of January away to Liverpool, where we will be without Joe Rodon after his ankle setback vs Sunderland.
The hope for Leeds is that our game at Anfield comes alongside dropped points below us in the Premier League table.

West Ham gain a point in 2-2 draw with Brighton
All eyes last night were on those below Leeds and how they’d get on. West Ham hosted Brighton, Nottingham Forest hosted Everton, Burnley were at home to Newcastle, and Wolves travelled to Man United.
Mainly, the focus is on how West Ham could fight back into the survival mix after dropping seven points off Leeds’ pace. Hosting Brighton, there was a chance for the Irons to claw back their deficit.
An early goal from Jarrod Bowen sparked worry, only for two Brighton penalties in two minutes to flip the game on its head.
Danny Welbeck converted the first but missed the second to see the scores at 1-1 heading to half-time. However, Lucas Paqueta scored a spot kick for the hosts to go into the interval winning and importantly four points off Leeds.
After half-time though, Joel Veltman restored parity to leave Nuno Espírito Santo forced to settle for a point.
Shocking Danny Welbeck penalty denies Leeds United huge boost over West Ham
It could have been better for Leeds.
A draw at home in a somewhat favourable game is ideal for us watching on. But, them losing would have been even better.
Welbeck had a spot-kick to take the lead. You’d have hoped he’d rifle it into the bottom corner, but alas, the 35-year-old veteran thought a Panenka at 1-1 was the way to go.
It rebounded off the crossbar and Welbeck tried to follow up, resulting in an indirect free-kick.
What could have been a West Ham defeat was a point clawed back instead, frustratingly.
It leaves Leeds capable of going 9 clear with a win at Anfield, if you’re feeling optimistic.
Meanwhile, Burnley and Forest lost while Wolves bagged their third point of the game away at Old Trafford.
