Arsenal are not prepared to allow any members of their first-team squad to leave on loan in the January window.
And that is potentially bad news for the two Hale End graduates, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis- Skelly.
Both signed new long-term deals at the club in the summer, but both have seen their first-team minutes subsequently limited following the influx of summer signings.
For Lewis-Skelly in particular, that could cost him the chance to become part of England’s World Cup squad next summer. Nwaneri will also feel that he is marking time at the Emirates, and that his development is being allowed to stall.
However, with the club still competing for four trophies, and also leading the Premier League table when it comes to injuries suffered, Mikel Arteta is not prepared to let anybody go at this juncture.
The situation of both players will likely be revisited in the summer.
