Oscar Bobb on verge of joining Champions League club from Manchester City

Manchester City’s Oscar Bobb missed the majority of last season due to an injury suffered in August 2024.

The Norway international has regained fitness but has been limited to five league starts this season. This has seen reports link him to Borussia Dortmund and a few clubs in England.

These claims seem to have intensified with Manchester City’s pursuit of Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo.

BVB are set to win the battle to sign Bobb. That’s according to Sport1, who report the Bundesliga side are ‘close to securing’ the winger’s services in the winter market.

Borussia Dortmund will initially sign the 22-year-old on loan and have secured a €30m purchase option.

Bobb’s arrival at the German club hinges on a key factor. Sport1 report Pep Guardiola’s side will only let him leave if they complete Semenyo’s signing.

The latest claims from the UK have stated the 25-year-old Ghana international favours a move to the Etihad. This should at least make Borussia Dortmund optimistic of acquiring Bobb’s services.

The Manchester City man’s arrival could ‘inject some much-needed energy into Dortmund’s somewhat lacklustre attacking play.’

On Boxing Day, Norwegian analyst Simen Stamsø-Møller said BVB could be a good option for Bobb’s development. The pieces have quickly fallen into place.
