Liverpool boss Arne Slot was unhappy with dropping points at Elland Road, and he still sounds pained by the result since that game.
“Yes, I could [cope], but I don’t prefer to cope with another day like that. But it’s part of our lives in football.” he said in Wednesday’s press conference.
“We have highs and lows, so we have to accept that. What I mainly took and take from it is that we struggled a lot, or much more, when they went to a four when they started to play 4-3-3 in the last 20 minutes of the game.
He then aimed a dig at the Whites, saying the only reason they got back into the game was because of VAR. Wilfried Gnonto was clearly brought down in the penalty box.
“That’s also when they scored their goals. Okay, the first one was another VAR intervention, but the second one was a really good goal from them.
“The third one was a set-piece. But we struggled more when they played with four than when they played with five [at the back].
“I will definitely look at both, but especially the moment when they went to a four at the back.”
Leeds can silence Reds boss this weekend
Farke’s men pulled off an impossible result in the reverse fixture, so there is no reason why they cannot do it once again. Leeds are in fine form and the team morale is at its peak. The players are always confident and never let their heads drop no matter the scoreline.
It is not surprising how the club has managed to stage huge comebacks to pick up crucial points in the past few weeks. If Farke can get his tactics right again, there is no reason why Leeds cannot spring a surprise at Anfield.
