When the Washington Wizards visited the White House in December 2024, the invitation extended to the players’ wives. One problem: Many of the players on the young roster weren’t married.
“Can the moms come?” Sophie George asked, reenacting her question with a hint of sheepishness. The mother of Kyshawn George, now 22, got the approval. Emma Traore, mother to 21-year-old Bilal Coulibaly, and Marie Sarr, mother to 20-year-old Alex Sarr, joined her on the bus to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
