Morgan Rogers say Aston Villa must ‘dust themselves down’ after defeat in North London

Morgan Rogers reflected on a 4-1 loss for Aston Villa against **Arsenal**at the Emirates Stadium.

The Villans came to North London in high spirits, having won eight in a row in the Premier League and 11 in all competitions before this fixture. They had also beaten the Gunners 2-1 at Villa Park earlier this month, and the visitors exploited the absence of Declan Rice repeatedly in transition.

Ollie Watkins missed a massive chance in the first 15 minutes of the match, Amadou Onana was wreaking havoc with his athleticism, and **Arsenal**took time to assert themselves on the game. However, a swift start to the second half saw the league leaders go 2-0 ahead before Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus put icing on the cake.

“We’ve got to dust ourselves down, we’ve got to be proud of the run we’ve been on and how good we’ve been. Take bits from the 45, take bits from the second half as well, and we’ve got more games coming up.

“The games don’t stop and we’ve got a really good opportunity to start again and go again for the next run of fixtures, to try and get our form back and get back to where we want to be.”

“They’re a good team, they’re where they are in the league for a reason; they’re relentless, they keep going.

“I thought that we were really good in the first half, we were really proud of the way we played. Probably, on another day, we might have created that more clear-cut chance to maybe go in front. But we were really solid, really good.

*“And then second half they piled on the pressure again. It’s tough here, to come to a placed like this, we know it’s difficult. We knew we had to ride our luck, they were clinical and ultimately that’s what happens, that’s the Premier League.”*
