With depth in the centre-back ranks required, Jan Paul van Hecke of Brighton has been suggested as another option. The 25-year-old has impressed in his time in the Premier League so far, and could offer his peak years to a club like Liverpool.
With Liverpool in need of another versatile forward, they could in turn look to land a player like Karim Adeyemi in January. The Borussia Dortmund star continues to be linked with a possible exit, and the Reds may be one side who could pounce to sign him.
