The 24-year-old dropped a career-high 36 points and grabbed six rebounds to help the Spurs secure a 134–132 home win against one of the top teams in the NBA.
Champagnie was on fire in this game, making 11 three-pointers (11/17 3PT). With this performance, he set a new franchise record for most threes in a single game, surpassing Chuck Person, who hit nine three-pointers back in 1997.
Now in his fourth year in the league, Champagnie has carved out a significant role with the Spurs this season.
He is averaging 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 27 minutes per game, helping the Spurs sit second in the Western Conference so far with a 24–9 record.
