11-year NBA veteran Austin Rivers believes Kevin Durant has made many NBA executives delusional by trying to draft the next KD, saying they are only searching for a 6'10" player who can score and handle the ball like him, when in reality most of these players are not even close to Durant’s level of play.
Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant is one of the best forwards the NBA has ever seen, having truly changed the game with his ability to shoot and handle the ball at his size.

There have been many talents considered to be the “next Kevin Durant,” but most of them have never lived up to expectations. Former NBA guard Austin Rivers sees a major problem in this, believing that many NBA executives have become delusional in their search for a KD-type player—and that they should stop looking.
“KD has gotten 100,000 guys drafted because people thought in their delusional minds they were getting another KD,” he said on the Off Guard With Austin Rivers show.
“He’s a one-of-one type of player. I’m tired of people seeing Thon Maker and being like, ‘Kevin Durant!’ Bro, there’s only one Kevin Durant,” Rivers added.
Durant’s incredible skill and size have helped him carve out an extraordinary 18-year NBA career, which shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
At 37 years old, Durant is still averaging 25.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game, shooting 52.2% from the field and 43.7% from three.
