Vaz has grabbed attention when making cameos for Marseille this season. He scored a brace after coming on at halftime against Angers in October.

Earlier that month, the 18-year-old had also scored and provided an assist as a substitute during a 6-2 victory over Le Harve.

Those performances have clearly led to growing interest and Foot Mercato believe he could be on the move this month.

What do Arsenal fans need to know about Vaz?

The striker came through the ranks of Sochaux, making his debut for their B team in Championnat National against Dijon B in September 2023.

Vaz moved to Marseille in August 2024, impressing for their B side before getting his first minutes for the first team at the beginning of last year.

The youngster only became a permanent fixture in the senior setup at the start of this season, making his first start against Metz during a 4-0 win a few months ago.

Berta is targeting young players

The Gunners are not expected to be busy this January, but there are suggestions that sporting director Andrea Berta will be looking to bring in one or two signings with the future in mind.

Reports in Brazil have suggested that Berta has been enquiring about Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon. The likes of Elche’s Rodrigo Mendoza and AC Milan’s Davide Bartesaghi are also believed to be on the club’s radar.

In that context, you can see why a move for Vaz could be considered, especially if he is made available for transfer.
