Leeds United manager Daniel Farke, Paul Merson in a circular insert
Leeds United have a huge chance to continue their fight for survival when they face Liverpool on Thursday. The Whites will be boosted by their recent results.
Leeds are on a five game unbeaten run since they lost to Manchester City. In that time, they have recorded huge victories over Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

Paul Merson gives verdict on Leeds United Liverpool game
The last game lived up to expectations, with a match that had everything; drama and late goals. Last month saw Leeds near the relegation zone with Daniel Farke under pressure.
However, the German managed to turn things around and pulled off a string of impressive results. One of these was coming from 2-0 down to hold Arne Slot’s side to a 3-3 draw.
Paul Merson, on his Sportskeeda column, said that the game will be completely different this time around:
“Leeds have turned a corner now and Liverpool are finding some form.
“Both teams will feel confident ahead of this game.
“The last time they met was a few weeks ago and Leeds produced an incredible performance in a 3-3 draw at Elland Road.
“Including that draw, Leeds have two wins and three draws in their last five games.
“Even though they drew the last game against Sunderland, I think they deserved to win that one! Leeds are on a roll now.
“If Liverpool win this and beat Fulham away, and Arsenal drop points against Aston Villa and lose to them at Emirates in a couple of weeks, they would have gained five points on the Gunners.
“But Liverpool must not think too ahead, they need to take care of the next two games first.”
This is a different Liverpool team
Arne Slot’s side were unlucky to drop points at Elland Road a few weeks ago. But now, they are a much different side. The dutch coach has guided them back on track after a poor run of form and now they look like a decent team.
This game will be a huge challenge for a Leeds side who need points on the board in the second half of the season.
What will make it more difficult is that the game is at Anfield this time, and the Whites will not have the Elland Road atmosphere behind them.
