Savinho may not be the only Man City player who could end up at Tottenham in the January transfer window.

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes Spurs could also push to sign Omar Marmoush from Pep Guardiola’s side.

Tottenham pursued Savinho in the summer transfer window, and the north London club remain keen on signing the Brazilian winger.

Thomas Frank wants to add a striker and a winger to his Spurs squad, with his side currently mid-table in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola could allow duo to leave Man City

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Marmoush is still a little bit of an unknown quantity in the Premier League.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness does not think the deals would involve a Spurs player joining Man City.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “That could absolutely happen. And I’ve been trying to think, are there any player swaps that could be happening? I’ve got no information on that, but I think if there could be Marmoush and Savino as well for Spurs, I’m trying to think who Man City might be angling for from Spurs, if there was to be anything other than just cash.

“But I think it may well end up as being cash deals. And I think it would be, we’ve talked about it so long about Pep wanting to reduce the numbers in his squad. And I think if he was to get rid of two, I think that would suit him quite well. And I think those would be the right ones to go. And it would give them a fresh lease of life, and see if they can do something at Spurs.

“Marmoush scored for Egypt in the African Cup of Nations. So look, he seems to be in a bit of form right now. Never quite developed the talent, but never really had the chance either. So we have to see what he can do. But yes, I think both him and Savinho could be moving down south.”

Tottenham agree player departure

Crystal Palace have agreed a £35million deal with Spurs for Brennan Johnson, meaning the 24-year-old looks set to depart north London.

Johnson just needs to decide whether to join Crystal Palace, with the Welshman also of interest to the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford.

The move will free up a space in Frank’s squad and generate funds to be able to sign the likes of Savinho and Marmoush.
