Key facts and highlights

The 34,302 attendance at Stamford Bridge for our Women’s side against Arsenal in January set a new Chelsea record for a WSL home game, beating the previous 32,970 set against the Gunners last March.

In March, we became the first side to reach six consecutive Women’s League Cup finals. We lifted the trophy by defeating Manchester City 2-1 at Pride Park.

In May, the Blues became the first team to record an invincible season in a 22-game WSL campaign (19 wins, three draws).

Sonia Bompastor is the second manager to win the WSL in their first season in charge after Arsenal’s Laura Harvey, who did so in the inaugural season in 2011.

Chelsea won the WSL for the sixth consecutive season and for the ninth time overall, winning three times as many titles as any other side (Arsenal – three).

In the same month, we became the first WSL team to complete a domestic treble on two separate occasions, also doing so in the 2020/21 campaign.

Chelsea set a new Women’s Super League record with a 34-game unbeaten streak (28 wins, six draws), surpassing their previous run of 33 games from February 2019 to January 2021, after the match against Liverpool in November.

Millie Bright set a new record for appearances in the Women's Super League during the match against Liverpool in November, marking her 211th appearance.

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd made her 100th appearance for Chelsea against Manchester City in March. Captain Millie Bright made her 300th appearance for the club against Tottenham Hotspur in October. And Guro Reiten played her 200th match for the Blues against Brighton in December

Sam Kerr became only the second player, after Fran Kirby, to score a century of goals for Chelsea in the WSL era against Aston Villa in September.
