According to ESPN's Michael Wright, Wembanyama's recent MRI came back clean, with no ligament damage to his knee.

He didn't join the Spurs' trip to face the Indiana Spurs on Friday, and he is expected to be questionable when the team returns this weekend to face the Portland Trail Blazers.

Wembanyama suffered a slight left knee hyperextension with 10:32 left in the Spurs’ 134–132 win over New York on Wednesday after getting tangled up with the Knicks’ Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordan Clarkson while fighting for an offensive rebound.

He didn't return to the game, but he still showed his support for the Spurs on the sidelines.

The Spurs couldn't be more serious in managing Wembanyama's health. The French star notably missed 12 consecutive games because of a left calf strain, prompting the team to play him as a reserve for a handful of games.

This season, Wembanyama is averaging 24.3 points, 11.7 boards and 3.4 assists in 21 games. Luke Kornet is set to start for the Spurs upon his absence in Indianapolis.
