January 1 – FC Barcelona has announced a new commercial partnership with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), naming the state-owned lender as the club’s Official Commercial Banking Partner in Indonesia through December 31, 2027.
The two-season agreement (no value was given for the deal) is built around payments and consumer banking. BRI will launch a co-branded debit card and roll out FC Barcelona branding across selected campaigns, with activations led locally and tailored to BRI’s retail customer base.
Fan-facing benefits are expected to play a central role. These include travel opportunities to Barcelona, matchday access at Spotify Camp Nou, visits to the Barça Immersive Museum, and preferential offers linked to the club’s membership products.
FC Barcelona estimates it has around 29 million fans in the country, contributing to roughly 243 million supporters across the Asia-Pacific region. For global clubs, markets of this size demand localised partnerships, particularly with domestic financial institutions that offer nationwide infrastructure and distribution.
Barcelona managing director, Manel del Río, said: “Asia Pacific is a strategic region for the Club, where we have a broad global fan base with whom we continuously seek to generate synergies and strengthen our connection. Through some of its products, this partnership will continue to promote the FC Barcelona brand worldwide and connect in a relevant way with new audiences in the country.”
Aquarius Rudianto, BRI’s Director of Network and Retail Funding, said: “FC Barcelona has a massive fan base in Indonesia, which BRI sees as a potential to build stronger relationships with our customers. Through this collaboration with FC Barcelona, we aim to inspire the public to carry the spirit of champions in every financial step they take. Moving forward, BRI will continue to build strategic partnerships aligned with the preferences and aspirations of the community.”
